Fire Proof materials are those of usually ceramic or non metallic which can resist in high temperature and keep their own physical and chemical features in different conditions. Any material which is capable of maintaining its physical and chemical characteristics is categorized as a fire-proof material. Additionally, these material must be resistant against other destructive forces such as: friction, chemical reactions, temperature fluctuations and high mechanical burden. Variation of productions makes it possible to satisfy different tastes .
The elements which could be found in earth's crust as fire-proof are : Si, Al , Mg , Ca , Cr , Zr , and carbon . These elements make oxides such as : Sio2 , AL2O3 , Zro 2 , Mgo . which are the main oxides in fire-proof industry. Fire-proof materials don't have certain point of melt down and only in a very high temperature they become soft, weak and delicate, which in this regard their mere point of melt down are the temperatures in which they become delicate .
Any material with the point of melt down of more than 1200 are called fire proof .
